  • UK-grown lavender

A low, deep-purple hedge that turns up in a box, then asks very little of you.

How the kit works

  • Planted at 3 per metre (about 33cm apart), which knits into a solid low hedge in a season or two
  • 5 metres = 15 plants · 10 metres = 30 plants · 20 metres = 60 plants
  • Every plant is a young Hidcote in a 9cm pot, the same plant as our single, just more of them for less
  • Kits cost about 10–15% less than buying the same number of single plants
  • Not sure of the length? Pace it out (one long stride is roughly a metre) and round up; a spare plant is handy for gaps

Free UK delivery included, Northern Ireland too.

The lowdown

  • English lavender with deep, inky-purple flowers
  • Stays low and tidy at about 40cm
  • Copes with a dry summer far better than a box hedge
  • Ideal for edging a path, lining a sunny drive or fronting a border

Drought-smart planting

Choose the sunniest, best-drained spot you have and dig grit or sharp sand into heavy soil. Give the row a good soak once a week for the first three weeks or so, then leave it to fend for itself except in a long dry spell. After flowering, trim into a neat dome without cutting into old brown wood. Hardy all year round, and sold as a culinary herb.

What arrives

15, 30 or 60 young Hidcote plants in 9cm pots, depending on the kit you choose.

Going longer than 20m? Our Hidcote bulk packs start at 75 plants (about 25m).

Will it like my garden?

Lavender thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, reflecting its Mediterranean origins. It struggles in clay or waterlogged ground, so if your garden holds a lot of moisture, another plant may suit you better.

Care, the short version

Lavender is wonderfully low-maintenance once established. Choose a sunny, well-drained spot, water regularly for the first few weeks after planting, then ease off as it settles in. A light prune after flowering keeps it compact and full. That's all it needs to thrive.

Why lavender earns its spot

Lavender plants are wonderful additions to any garden. They thrive in sunny spots, require minimal maintenance, and reward you with stunning purple blooms and delightful fragrance throughout the growing season. These hardy perennials attract pollinators, add colour and texture to borders, and many varieties are perfect for cutting to bring indoors. Whether you're creating a cottage garden, a Mediterranean-style space, or simply want natural beauty with minimal fuss, lavender is an excellent choice that keeps giving year after year.
