Lavandula angustifolia 'Arctic Snow' is a stunning compact English lavender, perfect for creating informal flowering hedges and garden borders. Pure white flower spikes emerge in late summer, releasing their signature heady fragrance when brushed against. The aromatic grey-green foliage provides year-round interest, whilst the blooms are beloved by bees and beneficial insects. Hardy and ready to plant, these 9cm pot specimens reach approximately 50cm in height. Space 3 plants per metre for a full hedge effect. Ideal for bulk planting projects. Plant in well-drained, neutral-alkaline soil with added grit or sharp sand to improve drainage—lavender thrives in poor, sandy conditions. Choose a sunny spot and water well for the first three weeks to establish strong roots. Once settled, this variety requires minimal watering. Prune after flowering, cutting back firmly but avoiding old wood to preserve next year's blooms. Hardy year-round, these plants are also sold as culinary herbs, adding versatility to your garden.

Is lavender right for your garden?
Lavender thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, reflecting its Mediterranean origins. It struggles in clay or waterlogged ground, so if your garden holds a lot of moisture, another plant may suit you better.
Lavender care guide
Lavender care guide
Lavender is wonderfully low-maintenance once established. Choose a sunny, well-drained spot, water regularly for the first few weeks after planting, then ease off as it settles in. A light prune after flowering keeps it compact and full. That's all it needs to thrive.
